La Voix Humaine (2022)

MUSIC PRODUCER

A searing psychological film of Poulenc’s one-act opera, based on the iconic play by Jean Cocteau, which was broadcast and released on the BBC. This new production, featuring soprano Danielle de Niese and shot on location in Paris and London, was directed by James Kent with music from the Royal Opera House Orchestra. Featuring only a single character – the woman known only as Elle – the piece examines the change that the technology of the telephone was to bring to humans and how they conducted their relationships.
